This booklet is the result of a survey of the Pollokshaws Old Burial Ground (also known as the East Free Church Burial Ground, the Vennel or Kirk Lane Cemetery) carried out in 2013 by Fraser Hamilton and Robert Carson.  A previous survey was carried out by J F & S Mitchell in 1968, and a booklet subsequently published by the Scottish Genealogy Society.  The 2013 survey recorded all inscriptions legible at that time, a total of 194 stones.  The Mitchells had recorded inscriptions from 228 stones, but in the intervening 45 years some have fallen or become illegible.  Two stones were recorded in the 2013 survey which had not been recorded by the Mitchells.
