These death notices were published 4 years before the start of statutory registration of deaths in Scotland in January 1855.
The column headings on the Deaths spreadsheet comprises Surname and First name of the deceased, the Maiden Surname & Status (married, unmarried or widow) for women, the date of death, the address, Notes, the Spouse or Father’s Name and Status, then finally, the date of the entry in the Glasgow Herald.
