DNA Study Group

A DNA study group meets at the Society premises in Partick every second Thursday (11.30-12.30) for members who have taken a DNA test and have already been using their results to aid their research.

Meetings take the form of an informal workshop where participants can share their experiences and learn from other members. We also offer help sessions to Society members who have taken a DNA test but who are unsure of the next steps to take.

If you are just starting out and would like some expert advice and help, please email: dna@gwsfhs.org.uk

Alternatively, the DNA Group would welcome new members interested in joining its fortnightly discussions.

Bibliography

We hold several DNA books in our Reference Library, including:

Unlock The Past guides: Gould Genealogy and History published a set of DNA guides available for purchase and download from their website:

You may read printed copies of these guides in the DNA Folder in our Research Centre.

Online Presentations

DNA Kindergarten is a series of four free presentations. They cover the basics of DNA testing and interpretation, and seem like a good introduction to the subject.
