Members Instructions

As a Member, you are entitled to one page in the Online Members Interests Directory. If you are a member and you wish to have their research interests displayed in this directory you should proceed as follows:

1. Send a message to the OMID Administrator using the form provided. Or download the form here and post to our Research Centre
2. Enter your e-mail address and in the message, enter your full name and your GWSFHS membership number, and state that you want your research interests to be included in OMID
3. Add a statement that you agree to have the information displayed on this facility, and held on any computer used by the Society to operate and manage the facility.
4. The OMID Administrator will contact you by e-mail at the address you give in the form, asking you to provide the name, place (it helps if you include parish name for places within the GWSFHS area),county code, country code, and periods of interest for each family you are researching. He will exchange e-mails with you until you are satisfied that your OMID page correctly describes your research interests.
5. The OMID Administrator will upload your OMID page to the GWSFHS website. You may ask for the information to be changed or removed at any time. Elaborate precautions are taken to ensure your e-mail address is not revealed by the Society to anyone.

Important Note To Members

Please keep your e-mail address up to date. When a visitor fails to reach you because your e-mail address in OMID is out of date, we will do what we can to contact you, but we will have to suspend access to your member's OMID page until we receive a valid e-mail address. Please keep us advised of changes to your e-mail address.
